I checked the latest audition requirements for BIG3 companies and almost ALL of them now ask for "Creative Skills" (Songwriting/Composing).

It's not enough to just be a good dancer or singer anymore. They want "Artist-Idols" who can tell their own stories. I just started learning MIDI and my brain is exploding lol. Is anyone else struggling with this? Or are u guys already mini-producers? Share your favorite composing apps!

So, I’m finally hitting up some auditions this March (so nervous but excited!!), but I’m stuck on one thing: Should I let my parents come with me, or should I just go alone like a pro?

On one hand, having them there would be so much less stressful. They can hold my bag, give me water, and honestly, just having a "human shield" against the nerves sounds great. lol.

But on the other hand... what if I feel more pressured? Like, if I mess up a move, I’ll feel their eyes on me from the waiting area. 😭 Plus, I want to show the judges that I’m independent and ready for the "dorm life" away from home.

Everyone films in front of a white or gray wall, which is safe, but did u know color can change your "vibe" instantly?

If you're doing a "Refreshing/Teen Fresh" concept, try a soft sky blue or pale yellow backdrop (u can use paper rolls!). If you want to look "Chic/Powerful," a navy or dark grey makes your movements look more grounded. I tried a soft peach background for my last vocal cover and the comments said I looked 2x more "idol-like." What color represents your "brand" best?

I have a weird jinx. I HAVE to wear my lucky red socks, and I can't listen to any sad songs for 24 hours before the audition.

If I hear a ballad, I feel like my energy drops. I only blast high-energy songs like ITZY or Stray Kids to keep my 'Vibe' up. Also, I never cut my nails the night before (my grandma said it cuts away your luck lol). Do u guys have any weird or cute superstitions? Let's share some luck!

Hey guys, need some honest advice. So, I’ve been practicing with a close friend who also loves K-pop, and while the vibes are immaculate, I’m starting to get worried.

We always give each other super nice feedback like "Omg, you slayed!" or "Your lines are so pretty!" But lately, I feel like we’re just stuck in a "compliment loop." I know we’re trying to be supportive, but honestly, I need someone to be brutally honest with me.

Like, tell me if my angles are messy or if my vocals are flat, you know? I’m scared that if we only hear what we want to hear, we’ll never be "audition-ready."

Does anyone else find it hard to give "harsh" feedback to friends? How do you guys find someone to be cold and objective about your skills without ruining the friendship? I lowkey feel like I need a "Simon Cowell" in my life right now lol. 🐨

hey guys, just wanted to vent a little. had a minor clash with my dance crew today because the practice room was literally a mess after we finished.

i get that everyone’s exhausted after a 4-hour session, but leaving empty bottles and sweaty towels everywhere is just... not it. i strongly believe that respecting the space you practice in is part of the "star quality" we all talk about. if we can’t even clean up after ourselves, how are we gonna handle the responsibility of being an idol, right?

it was awkward for a bit, but we talked it out and agreed to make a "cleanup rotation." at the end of the day, being a k-pop star isn't just about the center position—it's about being a decent human being and a teammate.

If you’re filming a dance audition, the "White Tee + Denim" look is classic, but be careful!

  1. Transparency: Check if it’s too see-through under bright lights.
  2. Neckline: A high crew neck can make your neck look short in videos. Try a slightly wider neck to show your "line."
  3. Fabric: If it's too thick, you'll look stiff. If it's too thin, it'll stick to your skin when you sweat.

I spent 3 hours at the mall just to find the "perfect" audition tee lol. Am I being too dramatic, or do u guys also obsess over these details?

I just got some tea from a former casting director! She said the biggest mistake is coming in with heavy, glittery idol makeup.

Why? Because they want to see a "blank canvas." They need to imagine YOU in different concepts. Try a "No-Makeup" makeup look—focus on clear skin and a natural lip tint. Let them see your raw potential, not your makeup skills! Also, wear a color that brightens your face, not just black or white. Have u guys found your "winning color" yet?

Hey future idols! I was just thinking about all the "don't's" at auditions that people rarely talk about. We all focus on what to do, but sometimes one tiny mistake can be a total dealbreaker.

Here are my top 3 audition ABOOS:

  1. The "Stiff Face" Syndrome: Even if you're hitting every note, if your eyes look dead, it’s a no. Scouts want to see "star quality," so stop staring at the floor or the wall! Treat the camera/judges like your first ever fandom.
  2. Dressing like you're going to bed: I know baggy is trendy, but wearing a huge hoodie that hides your body lines is a HUGE mistake for dance. They need to see your "line" and posture. Wear something "fit" but comfy!
  3. Stopping when you mess up: If you forget the lyrics or miss a step, DON'T STOP. The moment you freeze or make a "yikes" face, it's over. Just smile and improvise! Show them you have that "professional vibe" already.

Has anyone else heard of other "taboos" from their trainers? Let's share so we don't fail for silly reasons!

I just learned this from a friend who’s a trainee! she said most scouts prefer a 45-degree angle during the 'profile' part of the video because it shows your jawline and nose bridge better than a flat front view.

also, if u have a rounder face, try positioning the camera slightly higher than eye level. it makes your face look sharper without looking fake. hope this helps for your next submission!
