A friend who works in production told me that many agencies now run incoming audition MP3s through basic audio analyzers before a human judge even listens.
They aren't checking if you sound like Adele; they are checking for "Pitch Drift" and "Excessive Auto-Tune/Noise Reduction." If you use aggressive digital noise suppression to hide your room background sound, it cuts the natural air and warmth from your voice, making your singing sound synthetic to the AI software. 🎛️❌ The best route? Record in a quiet space with zero digital filters or noise gates. Raw, slightly imperfect human voice with clean resonance passes the audio scan 100x better! 🎧✨
Looking at trainee forums, everyone literally loses their minds whenever monthly evaluation season comes around lmao. At my mid-sized agency, we prepare one dance song and one vocal song, and perform them live in front of three trainers. We get written feedback on the spot, which I think is pretty organized! For those under different agencies or the Big 4, how do they decide who gets cut, and what does your evaluation routine look like? ⚖️
I just received a submission guidelines update from a major agency global casting call. There was a huge, bold warning at the top: "Videos with any digital beauty filters, AI face alteration, or blurring effects will be automatically disqualified without review."
It turns out, too many international kids were using subtle TikTok or Snapchat filters that change eye size or bone structure just a tiny bit, and when they showed up to live Zoom rounds, they looked like completely different people. 📉💀 So now, the meta is completely raw. If you want your skin to look amazing without a filter, stop using ring lights in a dark room. Go find a large window with natural afternoon sunlight (around 3-4 PM). Natural light blurs minor imperfections organically while keeping your true eye depth and jawline 100% real.
My academy is holding a summer intensive program, and they said they'll give intense 1:1 personalized feedback on basic skills and choreo copies. It sounds tempting, but my current regular lesson schedule is already completely full, so I'm worried if I can handle it physically ㅠㅠ Is it worth pushing myself to take the intensive, or should I just focus on my current lessons? If anyone has taken a summer intensive before, let me know if it actually helped!
It's totally fine when I'm doing vocal practice, but the moment dance practice starts, it feels like my sunscreen completely melts off because of the sweat ㅠㅠ Seeing it clump up in the mirror makes me so stressed that my skin is gonna break out... Uh, would switching to a sweat-resistant sunstick or a sun spray you can mist over makeup actually stop the melting? I desperately need some suncare tips from my fellow trainees to survive this summer's wash-your-face level of sweat ....
I did a mock zoom interview with a Korean trainer last week, and the biggest note I got was about my speaking habits.
She told me that when I speak English or try to express passion, my eyebrows jump up and down, and my hand gestures are way too big—like a Disney channel actor or a TikTok influencer. 🎭 Instruction in Korea values "Controlled Grace." They want to see your eyes and facial expressions, but if your whole face is moving constantly, it looks messy on a fixed camera lens. 📉 How do you guys practice calming your face down while still looking bright and charismatic? I feel like a statue trying not to move!
Since auditing from overseas can be so lonely and isolating, a bunch of us on Discord started doing muted 'Practice-With-Me' sessions.
We just turn on our webcams in our rooms, put on a lo-fi timer, and do our daily stretching, core workouts, and vocal warm-ups together. No talking, just watching each other grind from different corners of the world—LA, London, Sydney, Toronto. 🗺️✨ Seeing another 17-year-old holding a plank at 11 PM in a completely different time zone motivates me way more than any inspirational video. It makes this crazy room-trainee life feel like an actual, shared global academy. Anyone want to join our next loop?
Hey guys, I’ve been seeing so many "cooling" and ice-infused beauty products dropping lately on my feed. Since I’m sweating 24/7 in the practice room, my skin is constantly flushed, red, and irritated, so I’m super curious if these actually work! Have any of you tried those cooling toner pads, ice sticks, or soothing gels that instantly drop your skin temperature? If you have a specific brand or product that keeps your skin calm and fresh during intense summer training, please don't gatekeep!! 🥺🤍
Okay, hear me out. I practically live on Iced Americanos to survive my 8-hour dance practices, but now that the weather is scorching hot, I feel like it's actually dehydrating me 💸 Like, I drink it for energy but my throat ends up feeling bone-dry 0.1 seconds later. I desperately need to switch to something that gives a clean energy boost or is just super refreshing without the caffeine crash. What are you guys drinking in the studio to stay hydrated? Please drop your holy grail summer drinks, help a thirsty trainee out! 🙏
Maybe it’s because the weather is getting hot and I’m sweating 24/7, but whenever I look in the mirror lately, I hate my visuals... I was monitoring my camera test videos and I can only see my flaws, which makes me compare myself to other trainees...I need to be full of confidence since the audition is literally right around the corner, but this slump is ruining my focus. How do you guys manage your mindset when you hit an aesthetic slump or lose confidence before a big audition? Please save a fellow trainee and share your tips on how to love yourself in the mirror again 🤍
