Is it just me or is switching from Western hip-hop to K-pop style HARD? π
Iβve been doing open-style hip-hop for years, but now that I'm prepping for auditions, I realized my moves are way too "loose" lol. My coach keeps telling me to make my lines cleaner and sharper, but itβs so hard to break my old habits of adding too much extra groove. π Does anyone have tips on how to get that signature "K-pop sharpness" without looking like a stiff robot? I really want to nail that clean, synchronized look but my body just wants to vibe out... help a girl out!
Try practicing in front of a mirror and literally stopping your arms at the exact position for a split second. Itβs all about core and arm tension! Itβll feel weird and 'stiff' at first, but on camera, it looks like that crisp K-pop sharpness weβre all chasing.
Itβs definitely not just you! π Coming from a hip-hop background means you have great groove, but K-pop is all about 'stops' and angles.
Think of it as 'controlled energy' rather than just being stiff. β‘οΈ You can still keep your groove, but try to 'lock' your joints at the end of every big move.
