Big 4 long-term trainee vs. Mid-tier agency debut lineup? 🧐

so i recently talked to an unnie who's been training at a massive agency for years, and she said she's honestly struggling because it’s taking so much longer than she thought. it got me thinking... what’s actually better?

being a "forever trainee" at a Big 4 (HYBE, SM, etc.) where the competition is literally insane but the success is almost guaranteed if u debut? OR being in the confirmed debut lineup at a mid-tier/small agency where u can debut way faster but have that "nugu" risk? 😭

i feel like the pressure at big companies would be soul-crushing if u keep getting pushed back. but then again, the resources they have are next level. what would u guys choose if u had the chance right now? stay and wait or take the faster route?

honestly, big 4 all the way. even if it takes years, the exposure u get just by having that company name is insane. being "nugu" in a small company is a different kind of struggle that i’m not ready for lol.

lloud

The "forever trainee" life is actually traumatizing though. 😭 Imagine being 21 and still "evaluating." I’d take the mid-tier debut lineup in a heartbeat. You can always grow your brand as long as you're actually ACTIVE. Being a "hidden gem" forever is just sad.

It depends on your age and skill level tbh. If u're young (like 14-15), wait for the Big 4. But if u're nearing 20, u gotta take the mid-tier opportunity before it's too late. Also, check the agency's history! Some mid-tier labels actually treat their artists way better than the giants.
