Does anyone else feel like they’re literally 'suffocation by high standards'?

Lately, my expectations for my own growth are getting so out of hand that it’s actually exhausting. I’ll finish a 10-hour practice and instead of feeling proud, I just scroll through TikTok, see these 'perfect' 14-year-old trainees, and feel like I’m moving in slow motion.

I’ve realized that comparing my 'behind-the-scenes' to everyone else’s 'highlight reel' is a total trap. I need to learn how to stop obsessing over other people’s progress and just focus on my own lane. We’re all on our own timeline, right?

How do you guys deal when the 'trainee fomo' hits too hard? Let’s be real together.

Social media is a total trap, fr. 💀 Nobody posts their voice cracks or the 50 times they tripped over their own feet. You’re comparing your 'raw footage' to their 'edited masterpiece.' Turn off the phone and look in the mirror instead—that's your only real competition!

Wait, you did a 10-hour practice?! That’s insane dedication! You should be SO proud of that. Most people can't even stay focused for 2 hours. Your body is learning even when your brain is being mean to you. Give yourself some credit!

Whenever 'trainee FOMO' hits me, I try to remember that some idols debuted at 14, but some debuted at 24. ⏳ Age is just a number; what matters is if you're 'ready' when the door finally opens. Your timeline is unique for a reason!

Maybe you're not moving in 'slow motion,' maybe you're just building a stronger foundation. A skyscraper takes longer to build than a tiny shack. You're building something big, so it takes time! Don't let the 'suffocation' win.

I actually deleted TikTok for a week because of this exact feeling. It helped my mental health SO much. I focused on my own flow and actually improved faster because I wasn't distracted by everyone else's 'perfection.' Try a social media break, it's a game changer!
