What if u sneeze mid-chorus?? 🤧
Okay, let’s get real for a sec. We all spend hours practicing to be "perfect," but what happens when things go totally south during an audition?
Imagine you’re hitting the high note and… ACHOO! Or you’re about to drop the beat and the music just… stops. It’s literally everyone’s nightmare, right?
But I heard from a mentor that scouts actually love it when things go wrong because they get to see your real personality. It’s called Crisis Management Skills.
Here’s how to turn a fail into a "Stan Point"
- The Music Cut: Don't look at the staff with "help me" eyes! Keep dancing/singing a cappella like nothing happened. It shows u have an internal metronome and insane confidence.
- The Sneeze/Cough: Just a quick "Excuse me," a bright smile, and jump right back in. Don't let it ruin your vibe.
- The Costume Fail: If your shoe flys off (classic lol), just keep going. Finish the choreo with one shoe like a pro.
Have u guys ever had a "disaster" turn into a win? Or what's your biggest "What if" fear? Let's talk it out below!
This literally happened to me last month! 😭 The MR just cut out in the second verse, but I just started clapping the beat and kept singing. The judges actually smiled for the first time! It's so true, confidence is your best survival tool.
My biggest 'What if' is definitely a voice crack on a high note... 💀 But reading this makes me feel better. I'll just laugh it off with a cute wink next time and keep going! Manifesting no sneezes for all of us though lol.
Scouts look for 'trainability,' and being able to handle a crisis shows you're ready for the big stage.
I actually practice 'mistake drills' now lol. I have my sister randomly stop the music while I'm dancing just to practice staying in character. It really helps with the nerves! Highly recommend it to everyone!
If you can't handle a sneeze in a small room, how can you handle a technical fail at a concert? This is such a great reminder!
They’re not looking for a robot; they’re looking for someone who can handle the chaos like a pro.
