Tips for your "Self-Cam" video (don't make my mistakes!)

I’ve sent out like 20 audition videos this month and i finally realized a few things about the "self-cam" vibe:

  1. Wear Bright Colors: Black hoodies are comfy but they make u blend into the background. Wear something like pastel blue or white to make your face pop!
  2. Check the Audio: Record 5 seconds first and listen. If the music is too loud, the scouts can't hear your breathing or your vocal tone.
  3. The "Exit" is Important: Don't just awkwardly cut the video. Bow politely and smile until the camera is OFF. It shows your manners!

hope this helps my fellow dreamers! let's get that pass email soon!

the 'exit' tip is so underrated!! i always used to just awkward-walk to the phone to turn it off and it looked so messy lol. definitely doing the bow next time. also adding to the audio tip—try to use a separate speaker for the music, it sounds way clearer!

Tysm for the info! This is exactly what I needed.

the 'Exit' tip... oh my god, I’m so guilty of that. 😭 I always have this awkward 'stare' while trying to find the stop button on my phone. It’s so cringe when I watch it back! I’ll make sure to keep smiling and bow properly from now on.

I used to just awkward-blank-stare at the camera while reaching for the stop button lol.

"The 'awkward cut' is literally the worst part of filming. I used to just 🧍‍♂️ then awkwardly reach for the phone like a klutz, but the bow + smile until it’s OFF is such a pro move. Manners are everything in this industry!
