The 'Batchim' is my biggest enemy during vocal lessons.
I thought I knew Korean until I had to sing a ballad. The pronunciation of the bottom consonants changes everything!
My teacher keeps saying my "ㄴ" sounds like "ㄹ" and it's ruining the emotion. I spend hours recording myself and comparing it to the original. Do u guys have any tips for making Korean sound natural and not like a 'textbook'? Any specific tongue exercises?
Don't focus on the letters, focus on the 'Sound'. Like a melody.
I write the pronunciation in my own language first, then slowly switch.
Deadass, the 'ㄴ' vs 'ㄹ' struggle is too real. 😭 What helped me was practicing with 'extreme' enunciations—like, making my tongue hit the roof of my mouth way harder than I think I need to.
Batchim is literally the final boss of K-pop training lol. Don't overthink it—sometimes 'lazy' pronunciation actually sounds more natural in ballads.
