help!! my room is NOT audition-ready 😭

Hey guys, So, I finally decided to film my 1-minute audition video today, but I ran into a HUGE problem. My room is so small and the lighting is honestly... tragic.

I tried filming in front of my white wall, but my bed takes up half the frame lol. Plus, the shadows on my face make me look like I haven't slept in years! I tried using a desk lamp for extra light, but then I just looked like a ghost. Does anyone else deal with this?

Should I just film in my living room and hope my parents don't walk in? Or is it okay if some furniture is showing in the back? I’m so stressed that the scouts will think I’m messy or unprofessional.

If you have any hacks for "small room" filming or cheap lighting, please please let me know! I'm desperate!! πŸ™

honestly, film in the living room!! just tell your parents it'll only take 30 mins and ask them to stay in the kitchen lol. a bigger space makes the video look so much more 'expensive' and professional. don't worry about the furniture in the back, as long as it's tidy, scouts don't mind. they're looking at YOU, not your sofa!

Omg the 'ghost look' from desk lamps is so real! try filming during the day right in front of a big window. natural sunlight is literally the best (and free!) filter.

i totally feel u, my room is basically a closet 😭 but listenβ€”scouts actually like seeing your natural environment. it shows your 'trainee-to-be' vibe! if the bed is in the way, try to use a slightly higher camera angle so the floor shows less. and remember, your energy is 100x more important than the room.

Oml the 'living room' struggle is so real, but honestly, don't risk your parents walking in lol.

Fr though, do NOT film with the bed in the frame if u can help itβ€”it just distracts from ur lines.
