Thinking of going to a 2-week K-pop camp in Seoul this summer. Is it a scam?
I see so many ads on Instagram for these "Intensive Trainee Camps" in Gangnam that promise vocal lessons from ex-SM/YG trainers and a "Guaranteed Audition" at the end.
It costs like $2000 (excluding flights). ✈️ Part of me thinks it’s a great way to experience the real trainee routine and get noticed by scouts. But another part of me feels like it’s just a tourist trap for rich K-pop fans. Has anyone actually done one of these? Did u get any real feedback, or did they just teach u standard choreo and say "good job"?
It's good for networking with other global trainees, but don't expect to get signed instantly.
Ngl, most of those camps are definitely tourist traps for rich i-fans. That "Guaranteed Audition" is usually just a mass audition where you perform for 30 seconds in front of a low-level rookie scout who isn't even looking at the room 💀
